Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, and Life Transition Therapy in Asheville, NC
Trauma-Informed Counseling for Adults | In-Person in Asheville or Telehealth Across NC, SC, FL, VT, and ID
If you’re feeling anxious, disconnected, burned out, or like the life you’re living no longer fits, you’re not alone, and you’re not broken.
Many of the people I work with describe a quiet but persistent sense that something is “off.” Relationships feel different. Work no longer makes sense. Old identities, roles, and coping strategies stop working. Sometimes anxiety or depression takes over. Other times, a breakup, trauma, burnout, or a powerful psychedelic or spiritual experience leaves you thinking, “What just happened to me?”
Trying to push through isn’t working anymore. That’s often the moment therapy becomes not just helpful, but necessary.
I Help People With:
-
Anxiety and chronic worry
-
Depression and emotional numbness
-
Trauma and post-traumatic growth
-
Life transitions, including quarter-life and midlife shifts
-
Burnout and nervous system exhaustion
-
Identity changes and loss of self
-
Integration after psychedelic, mystical, or ketamine experiences
-
Adjustment after major life events or losses
Many clients come in believing they need to be “fixed.” What we often discover instead is that they’re changing—and need support learning how to live inside that change.
What Clients Tell Me
- “I feel stuck.”
- “I don’t recognize myself anymore.”
- “I’m exhausted from trying to be who I’m supposed to be.”
Clients often describe feeling out of sync with their lives, trapped in roles that no longer reflect who they are. Letting go of an old version of yourself can be frightening, even when growth is necessary. Therapy offers space to grieve what no longer fits while building trust in who you’re becoming.
Our work together focuses on helping you avoid getting stuck in post-traumatic stress and instead move toward post-traumatic growth. This isn’t about forcing insight or rushing healing. Sometimes the work is simply learning how to feel again; safely and with support.
My Approach: Trauma-Informed, Relational, and Transpersonal
My work is grounded in the belief that healing happens in relationship and through the body, not just through insight.
I use evidence-based and experiential approaches, including:
-
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
-
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
-
Mindfulness and nervous system regulation
-
Transpersonal and existential therapy
-
Psychedelic and ketamine integration support
I help you learn to work with your nervous system rather than living in fear of it. We are more than our thoughts and feelings. Therapy is about learning to hold space for your full experience; joyful and painful, calm and uncomfortable; without getting lost inside it.
There’s nothing you need to do to become yourself. You already are. The work is remembering.
