Clinical Intern

Fees: $50 per session

Interns utilize a Pay-What-You-Can model for their fees. The standard fee is $50, but we are happy to have a conversation about what is feasible for you, no questions asked. We do not require any documentation or proof of income to qualify for a lower fee.

Interns are not able to bill insurance for their sessions.

We offer practicum and part-time internship placements.

If you are a clinical counseling student pursuing a LCMHC(a) license in NC, we may have availability in an upcoming semester to host your practicum or internship! Our opportunities fill usually a semester (6+ months) ahead of time. Our ideal student is nontraditional, someone interested in private practice in the future, and someone who is passionate about working with the LGBTQIA+ and neurodiverse communities!

While you cannot be paid in this setting for therapy work (since you are not yet licensed) we CAN offer some LIMITED paid opportunities for marketing, client care coordination (such as answering the phones, emails, scheduling, etc) subject to availability.

Our practice focuses on teaching you not only how to be an amazing therapist, but WHY we do what we do. You get to see the inner working of a practice, from staff consultations, billing, phone systems, scheduling, a deep-dive into the DSM and you carry a caseload of your own clients from week 1.

Our site is not for you if you “don’t see color” or don’t care about being actively anti-racist. Our site is not for you if you want to be a cookie-cutter therapist. Logistically, our site is not for you if you need a full-time internship of 40 hours per week. Our maximum that we can offer is 10-12 direct hours weekly.

If interested in future practicum or internship opportunities, please apply for a future practicum or internship at this link and we will get back to you!
