Counseling for the LGBTQIA+ Community

It’s important to find a therapist who understands your unique needs and the complexities of sexual orientation/identity. Here at Origins Counseling and Wellness, we work with a wide range of folx who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, pansexual, transgender, queer, asexual, genderqueer, non-binary, questioning, and anything in between. Whatever you’re going through, we strive to be affirming, supportive, allied and competent providers for the LGBTQIA+ community.

If you’re seeking counseling for self-exploration, we can work on that. If you’re seeking counseling for something unrelated to your gender or sexuality, we can work on that as well! Being within the LGBTQIA+ community is not a disorder and will not be treated as such. In our time together, we will focus on your identified needs within therapy and counseling. You won’t be shamed in our space and we can explore your experiences and build upon your skills in an affirming and understanding environment.

Our practice places emphasis on assessing our blind spots and seeking out paid consultation with those of lived experience. We prioritize specialized training in providing gender affirming surgery letters and are happy to offer this service free of charge as appropriate. We support the GALAP movement of informed consent, while recognizing and adhering to WPATH standards. 

Often our clients come to us for assistance finding balance and relief from the expectations of their family, friends, partners, coworkers, and themselves.
