HI, I’M MADISON. Book A Free Consultation Now
You feel stuck, paralyzed by the pressure to “do all the things.” You are secretly wondering how everyone else seems to effortlessly keep their shit together. You might think you’re just not cut out for this adulting thing. If you often find yourself trapped in a cycle of procrastination or overwhelmed by the sheer volume of responsibilities, you’re not alone.
I specialize in supporting clients who struggle with focus, avoidance, and the daunting challenge of initiating tasks and other executive dysfunction. Together, we’ll explore the underlying factors contributing to these struggles, whether it’s fear of failure, perfectionism, or a lack of effective coping mechanisms. (or neurodivergence!) Therapy is not a one-size fits all solution. Through personalized interventions tailored to your unique needs, we’ll develop practical strategies to overcome obstacles, reignite your motivation, and reclaim your autonomy over your life’s direction.
My goal is to empower you to navigate life’s challenges with confidence and resilience, finding fulfillment in both your accomplishments and your journey towards self-discovery. In my practice, I emphasize the transformative power of self-compassion. While it may seem counterintuitive in a society that values bullshit “boot-strap mentality”, the research shows that embracing kindness towards oneself is far more effective than relentless self-criticism.
I utilize therapeutic modalities such as EMDR, CBT, and others to tailor our therapeutic space to your needs.
Beginning my professional journey with outpatient telehealth therapy in 2021, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed working with clients from the comfort of my home (often wearing my favorite pair of comfy pants). Whether you’re joining me from the safety of your own home or amidst the chaos of daily life, our time in session will offer a sanctuary for authentic exploration and growth. As a bi member of the LGBTQIA+ community, it is important to me that my clients feel at ease in our space together. I strive to always celebrate everyone’s diversity and intersections. You can expect occasional dog cameos during our sessions with your pets being warmly welcomed as well. After all, pets bring something so special into our lives!
I received both my Bachelor’s and Master’s in Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. I entered the field post-pandemic in the summer of 2020. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with prior experience in community mental health focused on child and family therapeutic interventions. I enjoy spending my free time practicing yoga and other soothing hobbies like building botanical Lego sets or doing puzzles that are in rainbow color-schemes.
