Meet Leah
Leah has a passion for supporting people who are navigating change and rewriting their stories, including her own team’s. She works alongside our clinicians to keep Origins a place where therapists can do meaningful work and still have a life outside of it. As a team, we strive to provide inclusive, affirming care for people of all identities across North Carolina, especially those in rural communities, grounded in education, lived experience, and celebrating what makes each of us unique.
Clinical Background
Leah’s clinical work centers on supporting people in rural communities, as well as those in the kink, polyamorous, and ethically non-monogamous communities, and LGBTQIA+ and trans clients. She’s committed to anti-racist, identity-affirming care and continually seeks out training to recognize her own biases and blind spots. In session, she draws on EMDR, mindfulness, and bibliotherapy.
Leah is not currently accepting new therapy clients, but still provides trans-affirming therapy letters for clients in NC, SC, VT, and FL.
About Me
Leah’s day-to-day roles include business management, intern and practicum student supervision, consultation, and, in her words, trying her best to be a badass boss and colleague.
Outside of work, Leah is a stepmother in a blended family, an enthusiastic PC and Xbox gamer, a lover of music, memes, and weird TV, and an unapologetic animal lover who enjoys the occasional hair color change. She travels often: Portugal, Norway, and Oregon are her favorites so far.
She earned her master’s degree in Clinical Counseling from East Carolina University, specializing in Substance Abuse Counseling and Military & Trauma Counseling, and holds a bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies.
