Looking for a therapist who accepts insurance in North Carolina? Origins Counseling & Wellness has clinicians who participate with several insurance plans, including Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS), CHAMPVA, Cigna, the NC State Health Plan, and UnitedHealthcare/Optum/UMR.
Finding care that fits your budget should not mean settling for a therapist who does not understand you. Origins combines insurance access with affirming, individualized mental health care so you can look for a clinician who fits both your needs and your benefits.
Insurance participation varies by clinician, service, and plan. Use the therapist directory to find providers who currently accept your insurance, then verify your specific mental health benefits with your insurance company before beginning care. Your plan determines details such as deductibles, copays, coinsurance, network requirements, and covered services.
Origins accepts commercial insurance plans only. Many people tell us they have BCBS or UnitedHealthcare but are actually enrolled in a Medicaid or Medicare plan from the same company, and we are not able to accept those.
Common questions
What insurance does Origins Counseling & Wellness accept?
Origins has clinicians who accept Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS), CHAMPVA, Cigna, the NC State Health Plan, and UnitedHealthcare/Optum/UMR. Not every clinician participates with every plan, so check the therapist's profile or use the insurance filters in the therapist directory to find the right match. Origins accepts commercial plans only, so Medicaid and Medicare plans are not accepted, even when the same insurer offers them.
How do I find a therapist who accepts my insurance?
Start with the Origins therapist directory and filter clinicians by your insurance plan. From there, you can compare each therapist's specialties, locations, availability, and approach. Before your first appointment, confirm your benefits directly with your insurance company because coverage can vary even when a therapist participates with your insurer.
How do I know what therapy will cost with my insurance?
Your out-of-pocket cost depends on your individual insurance plan. Deductibles, copays, coinsurance, network rules, and covered services can all affect what you pay. Contact the member services number on your insurance card and ask about outpatient mental health benefits and your expected cost for therapy.
