Executive functioning covers the skills that help you start tasks, stay organized, manage time and keep going. When these are hard, people are often called lazy or disorganized, when the real issue is how their brain handles planning and follow-through.

Our clinicians help you find systems that work for your brain instead of forcing ones that do not. We look at routines, overwhelm, shame and support, and work with ADHD, autism and other differences without treating them as failures.

Common questions

Is executive dysfunction the same as ADHD?

They overlap but are not identical. Executive functioning difficulties are a core part of ADHD and can also appear with autism, anxiety, depression, trauma and burnout.

Can therapy help with getting things done?

Yes. Therapy can help with routines, breaking tasks into steps, reducing the shame that gets in the way and building supports, such as reminders and accountability, that fit your life. See also our article on building better routines.
