Therapy for When You're Running on Empty
Maybe you’re the person everyone depends on. You take care of what needs to be done, keep everyone else moving, and still feel guilty when you need something for yourself. From the outside, you may look capable and high-functioning. Inside, you’re overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, or wondering how long you can keep operating in survival mode.
Kayla works primarily with women, pregnant people, birthing parents, neurodivergent clients, LGBTQIA+ people, teens, and adults navigating anxiety, trauma, burnout, ADHD, autism, OCD, intense emotions, relationship stress, perfectionism, people-pleasing, and major shifts in identity or life.
She has a particular interest in perinatal and postpartum mental health, including pregnancy, postpartum depression and anxiety, birth trauma, postpartum recovery, and the complicated emotional transition into parenthood. That season can hold joy, grief, fear, exhaustion, identity changes, and conflicting emotions all at once. Therapy gives you somewhere to bring all of it.
I help people with
Anxiety Disorders, Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), Boundary Setting and People-Pleasing, Burnout & Stress, EMDR, Emotional Regulation, Identity Exploration, LGBTQIA+ Affirming Care, Life Transitions Support, Neurodivergent Support, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Perfectionism & High Achievement, Perinatal & Postpartum Mental Health, Relationship Issues, Trauma-Informed Care, and more.
Approaches I use
My Approach to Therapy
Kayla’s approach is warm, collaborative, trauma-informed, queer affirming, and grounded in the belief that therapy should feel human. You don’t have to perform, minimize what you’re feeling, or arrive with the right words.
A major part of Kayla’s work focuses on emotional safety, nervous system regulation, and self-compassion. Rather than treating intense emotions, sensitivity, or neurodivergence as something you need to hide, therapy helps you understand what’s happening, recognize what your mind and body may be responding to, and build ways of moving through life with less shame and more choice.
Depending on your needs, Kayla draws from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and EMDR. ACT can help you make decisions based on your values rather than fear. DBT provides practical tools for emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and relationships. EMDR can support trauma processing, including experiences related to pregnancy, birth, and postpartum life.
Therapy with Kayla can include difficult conversations, genuine compassion, and humor when it fits. Growth does not have to look perfect to count.
"I'm the one everyone depends on, but I'm exhausted. I keep pushing through, overthinking everything, and feeling guilty whenever I need rest or support for myself."

A Little About Kayla
Kayla is especially drawn to working with people who have spent years feeling misunderstood, emotionally overwhelmed, chronically invalidated, or like they are somehow “too much.” Her work is grounded in the belief that you do not have to shrink yourself, justify your feelings, or wait until things get worse before you deserve support.
She brings a trauma-informed and neurodivergent-affirming perspective to therapy, with particular interests in women’s mental health, pregnancy and postpartum experiences, birth trauma, ADHD and autism, OCD, emotional regulation, identity, and relationships.
Her goal is to create a space where you can understand yourself with more curiosity and less judgment while building a life that feels more sustainable, connected, and genuinely yours.
