Therapy for When Overthinking Is Wearing You Out
Maybe your child is having big feelings they can’t explain, your teen seems harder to reach, or you and your partner keep having the same argument. Or maybe you’re here for yourself because anxiety, low moods, or second-guessing everything is wearing you out.
You may have rewritten the text three times and still haven’t sent it. You want to say no, but you’re already coming up with an excuse so nobody gets upset. Or you finally say what’s bothering you and then spend the rest of the night wondering if you were too much. It’s tiring to think this hard about things other people seem to do so easily.
Jasmine works virtually with children ages 10 and up, teens, adults, and couples across North Carolina. She’s interested in how you got here and in helping you find a way forward that feels like you, in a space where your identity is respected and you can be yourself, however your brain works. BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ clients are welcome to bring their whole selves.

Approaches I use
My Approach to Therapy
Jasmine wants to get to know you beyond what brought you to therapy: what matters to you, what’s been hard, and what’s helping you get through it. You can tell her the messy version, the “I know this sounds petty, but…” version, or the part you’re embarrassed still hurts. She’ll listen, ask questions, and help you sort through it. You can share a laugh when something is funny and take your time when it’s hard.
She brings curiosity, care, and honest feedback, along with practical tools to try between sessions. Together you’ll work on the moments that matter outside of therapy: sending that text, having the conversation, or saying what you need without explaining yourself into exhaustion. You’ll try things, talk about how they went, and adjust together.
Depending on what feels useful for you, Jasmine draws from three approaches. Person-Centered Therapy means your experiences and priorities guide the work, and you can say so when something doesn’t fit. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) helps you make room for hard thoughts and feelings, like anxious spirals or harsh self-talk, without letting them run the show, and move toward what matters to you. Strengths-Based Therapy means noticing what’s already helping, building on what you do well, and finding manageable steps toward the changes you want. Throughout, she acknowledges the real circumstances affecting you, including discrimination and invalidation, and trauma-informed care means your comfort and choices matter, with room to pause and share at your own pace.
As a Black queer woman, Jasmine cares about creating a space where BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ clients feel respected and comfortable being themselves. You can talk about racism, sexuality, gender, family expectations, or the exhaustion of feeling misunderstood. She’ll listen without minimizing what happened or expecting you to defend why it matters, and you can correct her, tell her something doesn’t feel right, and ask for what you need.

A Little About Jasmine
Jasmine earned her master’s degree in Clinical Counseling and her bachelor’s degree in Psychology, with a minor in Alcohol and Drug Studies, from East Carolina University. She is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate and a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist Associate in North Carolina, and a National Certified Counselor.
She has experience working with children, teens, adults, and couples, including people navigating trauma, substance use, and stressful life changes. That work taught her to stay curious about each person’s story and to take the time to understand what matters to them.
Outside of work, Jasmine enjoys traveling, gaming, trying new restaurants, and spending time with her wife and their pets. She loves having a trip to look forward to, but she’s just as happy hanging out at home, and she brings that same relaxed, personable energy into sessions, along with a real interest in getting to know you.
