Therapy for Faith, Culture, and Identity
Maybe you’re questioning beliefs you grew up with and trying to figure out what still feels true to you. Maybe you’re balancing family or cultural expectations with the life you actually want, or navigating the pressure of being first-generation, bicultural, or the first person in your family to try therapy.
Stephanie works with teens, college students, and adults dealing with anxiety, ADHD, perimenopause and menopause, religious trauma, faith deconstruction, identity questions, relationship stress, and major life transitions. As a bilingual therapist, she offers sessions in English and Spanish and brings a culturally responsive perspective to therapy with Latinx and Hispanic clients.
Many of Stephanie’s clients are starting therapy for the first time. Her goal is to make that first step feel approachable, unhurried, and free of judgment while helping you separate what you’ve inherited from what you genuinely want to carry forward.

My Approach to Therapy
Stephanie’s approach is collaborative, honest, compassionate, and grounded in the belief that therapy should fit the person, not the other way around. She draws from Person-Centered Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), psychodynamic approaches, and feminist therapy to create care that responds to your goals, identity, relationships, culture, and lived experience. EMDR can help process painful experiences that still feel present.
Family, culture, faith, identity, and community can all shape how we understand ourselves. Stephanie makes room for those parts of your story without assuming what they should mean to you. Together, you’ll explore patterns that no longer fit, build greater clarity around your values, and develop ways of moving forward that feel more authentically yours.
Stephanie also believes therapy can hold both difficult conversations and moments of humor. Growth is rarely quick or perfectly linear. The goal isn’t to rush the process. It’s to help you move through it with more self-understanding, confidence, and choice.
"I'm questioning what I was taught to believe, trying to figure out who I am, and carrying family or cultural expectations that don't always fit the life I want for myself."

A Little About Stephanie
Stephanie earned her Master of Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her connection to this work is also personal. Growing up in a machismo community, she experienced her own questions about identity and belonging without always having a clear roadmap. That experience continues to shape the way she shows up for clients, as someone who values authenticity, cultural context, and helping people find their own voice rather than telling them who they should be.
Outside of therapy, Stephanie enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her dogs. She loves traveling and has visited countries throughout South America and Europe, where experiencing different cultures has deepened her appreciation for the many ways people understand family, identity, and community. When she’s taking it easy, you’ll usually find her watching one of her favorite comfort shows or films.
