Therapy for When Staying Strong Is Wearing You Out
Maybe you’ve gotten really good at pushing through. You show up, handle what needs to be handled, and stay strong for the people around you, even when you’re overwhelmed underneath it all.
You may be carrying anxiety, trauma, relationship stress, questions about your identity, pressure to get everything right, or emotions that are hard to name. Maybe you’ve spent so much time surviving that you’re not even sure what feeling like yourself is supposed to look like anymore.
Tae’Sia works virtually with teens and adults who want a place where they don’t have to perform, filter themselves, or arrive with the perfect explanation for what’s wrong. Therapy can be somewhere you finally slow down, understand what’s underneath the noise, and start finding your own voice again.

My Approach to Therapy
Tae’Sia’s approach is relational, trauma-informed, compassionate, direct, and deeply human. She pays attention not only to what you say, but also to the things that are difficult to put into words. You don’t have to show up polished or know exactly what you need before therapy can begin.
Depending on your needs, Tae’Sia draws from Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), EMDR, Narrative Therapy, and other trauma-informed approaches. Her work balances practical tools with deeper exploration of the experiences, relationships, identities, and patterns that have shaped how you move through the world.
Therapy with Tae’Sia can include compassion and challenge, honesty and softness, difficult conversations, awkward moments, and humor when it fits. She isn’t interested in forcing you into a version of yourself that feels more convenient for everyone else. The goal is to help you understand yourself, take up more space in your own life, and move forward with more confidence and choice.
"I've spent so long being strong for everyone else that I don't even know what I need anymore. I'm tired of holding everything in and pretending I'm okay when I feel overwhelmed underneath it all."

A Little About Tae'Sia
Tae’Sia earned her master’s degree in Clinical Counseling with a concentration in Rehabilitation Studies from East Carolina University. She is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist Associate in North Carolina and has practiced therapy since 2022.
Before and throughout her clinical work, Tae’Sia gained experience supporting veterans, clients involved with the criminal justice system, DSS-involved families, children, teens, and adults. Those experiences shaped an approach that recognizes how trauma, relationships, identity, substance use, family systems, and the circumstances surrounding someone’s life can all affect mental health.
Outside of therapy, Tae’Sia enjoys gaming, anime, going to the gym, finding her next great meal, and spending time with her calico cat, Asheerah. She brings that same authenticity into therapy and believes meaningful clinical work does not require pretending therapists or clients are anything other than real people.
