Therapy for When You're Always Taking Care of Everyone Else
You’re good at noticing what everyone else needs. You help, listen, fix, apologize, smooth things over, and somehow manage a hundred things at once. But when you’re the one struggling, you may not know who to turn to, or you feel guilty for needing anything at all.
Maybe you’ve spent years people-pleasing, second-guessing yourself, or saying yes when you desperately wanted to say no. You may be carrying anxiety, depression, trauma, guilt, shame, or painful experiences from your family of origin, adoption, domestic violence, or sexual or physical assault.
Jessica works with children, teens, and adults who want healthier boundaries, stronger relationships with themselves, and a place where they don’t have to take care of everyone else for an hour. Therapy can help you understand where these patterns came from without letting them decide what the rest of your life has to look like.

Approaches I use
My Approach to Therapy
Jessica’s approach is genuine, flexible, collaborative, and built around what you actually need. Therapy doesn’t have to feel formal or carefully rehearsed. You can cry, laugh, swear, eat lunch, take your shoes off, or show up having no idea where to start. This is your time.
Depending on your needs, Jessica draws from Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Person-Centered Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Mindfulness Therapy.
For clients with OCD, ERP can help you change the cycle between intrusive thoughts, anxiety, and compulsive responses. For trauma, EMDR can support the processing of painful experiences. For anxiety, people-pleasing, and boundary work, Jessica combines practical tools with space to understand the experiences, relationships, and beliefs underneath the patterns you’re trying to change.
Jessica values authenticity on both sides of the therapeutic relationship. You don’t need to perform wellness, minimize what you’ve experienced, or become easier for everyone around you. Therapy is a place to practice being more honest about what you need and build a life where your needs get to matter too.
"I'm always the person taking care of everyone else, but I don't know who to turn to when I'm the one struggling. I'm exhausted from saying yes, apologizing, and carrying things that were never supposed to be mine."

A Little About Jessica
Jessica earned her master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Wake Forest University and is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate in North Carolina.
Her clinical interests include trauma, anxiety, depression, OCD, people-pleasing, boundaries, and helping clients process experiences involving family-of-origin wounds, adoption, domestic violence, and sexual or physical assault. She is especially interested in helping people move beyond guilt and shame and toward a life that feels fuller than simply surviving what happened to them.
Outside of therapy, Jessica enjoys spending time with her husband, two boys, and her fur babies. She also enjoys ultra running, working out, cross stitching, and embroidery.
Jessica brings that same openness and authenticity into the therapy room. You don’t have to show up as a polished version of yourself to do meaningful work together.
