Brainspotting is a brain-body approach that uses the direction your eyes look in, or toward, to find a specific eye position called a brainspot. That spot helps access and process distress that words alone may not reach. It was developed by Dr. David Grand, and it is a bit like a cousin to EMDR, but less structured.

Sessions are mostly quiet and focused inward while your clinician holds space. Clients use it for trauma, anxiety, performance stress and stuck emotions. Research on Brainspotting is still growing, and your clinician can explain what is known.
